These include:

Bedford Health Village:

Phase 1 will provide an Enhanced Services Centre to deliver a range of high quality health and social care facilities in a new, modern and highly efficient building. Future phases include the possibility of new GP facilities and the refurbishment of Shires House (a grade II listed building).

Wolverton Health Centre:

The existing health centre in Wolverton is being rebuilt as part of a larger development including the leisure centre and local school. This will bring together a number of services on one site which will complement the GP services planning to re- locate to the centre, together with other health and related services.

Local general hospital in Welwyn Garden City:

Assemble Community Partnership will play a significant role in developing the new local general hospital in east and north Hertfordshire. This large new facility will bring together primary and secondary services such as outpatients and diagnostics into a health and social care campus.

Enhanced primary care centres:

As part of East and North Hertfordshire PCT’s strategic vision to deliver more care closer to home, two centres for primary care are being planned for the Stevenage area. These will bring together GPs and community services into new buildings to provide high quality healthcare. It is anticipated that these centres will open
in 2011.
